Iceland - The Beauty of the Golden Circle

Duration: 5 days

So here’s the deal… Iceland is one of those places that doesn’t feel real until you’re standing in it. It’s got steaming hot springs, geysers shooting into the sky, it looks like they’ve been filtered by Mother Nature herself. Maybe even the Northern Lights dancing above you if the skies are feeling generous… Oh, and the Blue Lagoon? Yeah, that’s on the list too. It’s five days of “how is this even real?” moments and memories that’ll make everyone else’s weekend plans look painfully average.

Pack your bags. You’re about to tick off something massive from your bucket list.

There’s only a limited number of spots, and once they’re gone, that’s it. Don’t miss out!

Itinerary

Please note, this is a sample itinerary. No activities are included unless specified in the ‘What’s Included’ section.

Meet your Trip Leader at the airport and fly together to Iceland, kicking off the adventure as a group from the very start. Once you land in Reykjavík, you’ll travel into the city, drop your bags, and get settled.

Afterwards, head out for a relaxed introduction to the city. Wander Reykjavík’s colourful streets, spot local landmarks like Hallgrímskirkja, and warm up in cosy cafés with a hot drink in hand. Your Trip Leader will share tips, stories, and recommendations as you explore.

In the evening, enjoy free time for dinner. Whether you go for Icelandic comfort food, street eats, or something sweet to warm up with, there are plenty of great options. And if the skies are clear, keep an eye out — tonight could be your first chance to spot the Northern Lights.

Welcome to Iceland. ❄️✨

Slow morning? Go for it. Grab a coffee, take in the crisp Icelandic air, and ease into the day. You’re on holiday after all!

We’ll kick things off with a guided walking tour around Reykjavik. You’ll have a chance to explore some iconic landmarks and get the inside scoop on Iceland’s Viking past🛡️⚔️

Once the tour wraps up, the rest of the day is all yours. But, we’ve got some recommendations for you:

  • Hallgrímskirkja Church – Head up to the top for unreal views over the whole city. It’s the tallest building in Reykjavik, so we reckon you’ll spot it easily.
  • Harpa Concert Hall – This place is a bit of a show-off (in the best way). Its glass design is wild, and it’s located right by the water.
  • Old Harbour – This historic waterfront is the ideal spot to chill, grab something to eat, and watch the world go by.
  • National Museum of Iceland – If you fancy diving into a bit of Viking history and culture, this one’s definitely worth it.

As the evening rolls in, tuck into some proper Icelandic comfort food, or just hang out with the group, our Trip Leader will make sure you make the most of your evening. However you spend it, it’s gonna be another unreal day in Reykjavik

Ready for one of those “is this real life?” days? all about exploring Iceland’s most famous route, the one and only Golden Circle.

We’ll head out of the city and straight into the kind of scenery that makes you question if you’ve just walked into a documentary. The air’s fresh and the views are unreal!

  • First up is Thingvellir National Park, a proper bucket-list spot. You’ll be walking between two continents (yep, really!) following the same paths the early Viking settlers once did. You’ll be surrounded by dramatic cliffs and crystal-clear streams.
  • Next up, Gullfoss. This is one of Iceland’s most famous waterfalls, you’ll hear it before you see it. Don’t be surprised if you get a bit of spray on your face… it’s part of the experience.
  • And just when you think the day couldn’t get any better, we’ll stop by the Geysir hot springs. Every few minutes, steaming water shoots metres into the sky. It’s dramatic, a bit chaotic, and completely mesmerising.

By the end of the day, you’ll get why everyone falls in love with this place. It’s Iceland at its absolute best

No early alarms, no set plans, just Iceland waiting for you to dive in (not literally… unless it’s the Blue Lagoon).

  • You’ve got a full day of free time, so make it count. If you’re after the ultimate Icelandic experience, head to the Blue Lagoon. Picture this: floating in steaming, sky-blue water while snow falls around you. Sounds like pure magic to us. It’s fed by natural geothermal springs and packed with minerals, so your skin will thank you too.
  • Feeling a bit more adventurous? Wander down to the Old Harbour, hop on a boat, and head out for a whale-watching trip. The first sight of a whale breaking the surface is something you’ll never regret.

And if you’re in the mood to keep things local, our Trip Leaders know exactly where to find the best buzzing bars and cozy hangouts in Reykjavik. Just ask! They’ll be more than happy to lead the way.

On your last night, take a moment to soak it all in. We hope you’re leaving with a story you’ll be telling for years.

Enjoy one last Icelandic morning before it’s time to say goodbye. Grab breakfast, take a final stroll through Reykjavík, and soak up the crisp air and colourful streets one last time.

After checking out, you’ll travel to the airport and fly home together with your Trip Leader, wrapping up an adventure filled with icy landscapes, powerful waterfalls, cosy cafés, and unforgettable memories.

Takk fyrir, Ísland — thank you, Iceland. ❄️✨

I was on the Iceland trip

I was on the Iceland trip. Amazing country, UnilLfe not only arranges activities but gives you plenty of free time to plan your own. Tara was extremely friendly to us all and kept the trip well organised and updated us on all information we would need in a quick and easy way to understand. I want to thank her personally for making the trip that much better. I personally went on this trip and happened to meet someone who will mean a lot to me for a long time. My advice, if you are on the fence about going...just go.
