Albufeira is a coastal city, renowned for its club culture, beach bars, lively restaurants and endless entertainment. Every year thousands of holiday makers are drawn to its stunning beaches and exciting nightlife.

But, there is another, more tranquil side to the party capital of the Algarve. Around 40 minutes drive or transfer from Faro Airport, Albufeira is central to the region’s main tourist attractions and a great base for exploring the Algarve. If you don’t want to venture too far, there are countless areas of natural beauty, peaceful countryside and stunning beaches to discover, just beyond the busy city, making it an ideal destination for all ages, including those who prefer to get some sleep before the sun comes up!

Itinerary

  • You’ll meet with your UniLife Trip Leaders at your chosen pick-up destination and head to the airport to catch your flight!
  • Once landed at Faro Airport, proceed through passport control and hop on your airport transfers to the accommodation.
  • Our Trip Leaders will get you checked in and settled so you can make the most of your first evening in Albufeira. We have plenty of recommendations from our many trips here, which we’ll share on the group chat so you can start getting to know the city!

Free time all day until the evening!

Here some recommendations:

  • Head to one of Albufeira’s stunning beaches, such as Praia dos Pescadores or Praia da Oura, and spend the morning relaxing in the sun or swimming in the crystal-clear waters.
  • Have lunch at a beachside restaurant or beach shack. Explore the Old Town of Albufeira, with its charming cobblestone streets and picturesque squares. Visit the Clock Tower and enjoy the panoramic views from the top.
  • We finish the day with our bar crawl through Albufeira’s nightlife hotspots.

  • There are many activities available in Albufeira, pick one or choose to relax on the beach.
  • Activities include: water sports like jet-skiing, parasailing, or paddleboarding, excursions to nearby attractions, such as Zoomarine, a marine theme park or hiking in the surrounding hills for scenic views.
  • Explore Albufeira’s vibrant shopping areas, where you can pick up souvenirs or relax at a café.
  • Enjoy delicious Portuguese cuisine at a local restaurant or café.
  • Finish off the day by heading to the beach to watch a beautiful sunset. We recommend Ponta da Piedade but there are many wonderful spots. 
  • We’ll check out of the accommodation and put your bags in luggage storage.
  • You’ll have a final chance to explore and see any sights you might have missed!
  • After meeting back at the accommodation, you’ll hop on your transfers back to the airport and board your flight back the UK.
  • Once back, we’ll proceed through to the arrivals area, making the end of the trip. Until next time!
