Split really has a bit of everything – Built around Diocletian’s Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage Site from the 4th century, the old town area is incredibly striking and authentic, with narrow streets and ancient steps that have been traversed by visitors for over 1700 years. In the summer months, the city has several pebble beaches that are a great place to relax by the sea. There is also Marjan Hill – perfect for a good walk that rewards those willing to climb the steep paths with incredible panoramic views of the city and surrounding coastline. As the main transport hub to nearby islands, there are also numerous day trips on offer from local suppliers to places like Brac or Solta.

As evening falls, Split transforms into a vibrant nightlife destination. From beachside clubs to historic wine bars, the city caters to diverse tastes. With its welcoming locals, diverse attractions, and a perfect blend of ancient and modern, Split promises an unforgettable adventure for student travellers.

Itinerary

Please note, this is a sample itinerary. No activities are included unless specified in the ‘What’s Included’ section.

You’ll meet with your UniLife trip leaders at your chosen pick-up destination and head to the airport to catch your flight!
Once landed at Split Airport, proceed through passport control and hop on your airport transfers to the accommodation.
Our trip leaders will get you checked in and settled so you can make the most of your first evening in Split. We have plenty of recommendations which we’ll share on the group chat so you can start getting to know the city!

A day of free time to explore the city how you like! Here are some recommendations:

Start your day off exploring Diocletians palace and the Old Town.
We’d strongly recommend the views from the top of St Domnius Tower!
Grab some lunch form one of the many cafe’s and restaurants within the palace walls.
The ice cream in Split is to die for, so we’d suggest grabbing some while you walk along the Riva Promenade.

In the evening meet your Trip Leaders for an Bar Crawl visiting Split’s hotspots!

Here are some things we recommend to do with your free time:

Marjan Hill is a great way to shake off the night before!
We’d recommend relaxing away the afternoon on Bacvice or Kasjuni Beach
You can revisit your favourite evening spot on the final night!

We’ll check out of the hostel and put your bags in luggage storage.
You’ll have a final chance to explore and see any sights you might have missed!
After meeting back at the hostel, you’ll hop on your transfers back to the airport and board your flight back the UK.
Once back, we’ll proceed through to the arrivals area, making the end of the trip. Until next time!
