As a student, Strasbourg buzzes with international energy—home to one of Europe’s top universities and EU institutions, you’ll find people from all over the world. Spend your day exploring several European institutions and then chill out in a street cafe or with a walk down the Ill River.

Between late-night exploring the bars and riverside picnics, Strasbourg perfectly blends academic life with European adventure—ideal for students who want a weekend away filled with history, culture, and community all in one place.

Itinerary

You’ll meet with your UniLife Trip Leaders at your chosen pick-up destination and head to the airport to catch your flight!
Once landed, proceed through passport control and hop on your airport transfers to the accommodation.
Our Trip Leaders will get you checked in and settled so you can make the most of your first evening in Strasbourg. We have plenty of recommendations from our many trips here, which we’ll share on the group chat so you can start getting to know the city!

A day of free time to explore the city how you like! Here are some recommendations:

We recommend starting off with a walk around La Petite France. This area of the city is famous for its cobblestone lanes amongst the half-timbered houses and little canals running throughout.
Head to Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Strasbourg to admire the Gothic architecture and one of the tallest cathedrals in Europe. At 142m, the Cathedral was once the world’s tallest building from 1647 to 1874.
If the sun is shining, Parc de L’Orangerie is the perfect place to stop to enjoy a coffee or picnic and even watch some storks (the city’s beloved symbol)!

Here are some things we recommend to do with your free time:

Today is the perfect opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the European Institutions which Strasbourg is home to. Head to the European Parliament, the Council of Europe, and the European Court of Human Rights – all within walking distance!
In the afternoon, you could discover some fine arts, archaeology, and decorative arts at Palais Rohan – a sunning Baroque palace housing three museums.
Get to know the city on a deeper level by hiring a bike and exploring it properly. The city is super bike-friendly, with extensive cycling paths and river routes

We’ll check out of the hostel and put your bags in luggage storage.
You’ll have a final chance to explore and see any sights you might have missed!
After meeting back at the hostel, you’ll board your transfers back the the airport and board your flight back the UK.
Once back, we’ll proceed through to the arrivals area, making the end of the trip. Until next time!
