Berlin needs little introduction as one of Europe’s cultural capitals. The diverse appeal of the city means that there is literally something for everyone, with history at the ancient Pergamon Museum and the Berlin Wall, to modern culture in the form of progressive music and iconic fashion and art. You can learn about it all on Museum Island, with 5 separate museums to keep you entertained all day and many other points of interest just a short walk away.

Once you’ve spent the day absorbing all the culture, you can relax the German way in a traditional Bierhaus and spend your evening partying in one of the many nightclubs around the city. This really is an ideal destination for everyone, so say ‘Auf Wiedersehen’ to the UK and visit Berlin!

Itinerary

Please note, this is a sample itinerary. No activities are included unless specified in the ‘What’s Included’ section.

You’ll meet with your UniLife Trip Leaders at your chosen pick-up destination and head to the airport to catch your flight!
Once landed at Berlin Brandenburg Airport, proceed through passport control and hop on your airport transfers to the accommodation.
Our Trip Leaders will get you checked in and settled so you can make the most of your first evening in Berlin. We have plenty of recommendations from our many trips here, which we’ll share on the group chat so you can start getting to know the city!

A day of free time to explore the city how you like! Here are some recommendations:

‘d recommend starting off with a visit to Brandenburg Gate, followed by the Reichstag Building. The hostel may have some recommendations of free walking tours in this area if you want a formal introduction to the history of the area.
After picking up some food at one of Berlin’s many cafes, perhaps a Bratwurst to go, Checkpoint Charlie is a must-see, within walking distance, followed by a visit to the Holocaust Memorial.

In the evening meet your Trip Leaders for an Bar Crawl visiting Berlin’s hotspots!

Here are some things we recommend to do with your free time:

Spending some time around the large Tiergarten Park is a good way to recover from the night before. Berlin Zoo is also located on the west side of the park and is rated one of the best zoos in Europe and the largest in the world.
If the weather isn’t great, Museum Island is a great place to spend the day – with 5 museums in the same location, it’s home to many world-famous collections of art, artefacts and antiques that cover a huge range of interests and centuries.
Finish off the day relaxing in a traditional German Beerhaus, or trying some more of the many different cuisines on offer in the city.

We’ll check out of the hostel and put your bags in luggage storage.
You’ll have a final chance to explore and see any sights you might have missed!
After meeting back at the hostel, you’ll hop on your transfers back to the airport and board your flight back the UK.
Once back, we’ll proceed through to the arrivals area, making the end of the trip. Until next time!
