Barcelona is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Europe, and not just in the summer. The Catalonian capital appeals to people of all interests – learn what makes the Catalonian identity so special, taste some of the best tapas in all of Spain and be mesmerised by the other-worldly architecture of the Sagrada Familia and La Pedrera.
For the art enthusiast, the Picasso museum is a must see and if you like to take life at your own pace, you can spend the day ambling along La Rambla, or soak up the sun on the Beach with a cocktail in hand. The evenings in Barcelona are also something to be experienced, with pulsating nightlife and a variety of music styles in the many bars and clubs so you can drink and dance the night away!

Please note, this is a sample itinerary. No activities are included unless specified in the ‘What’s Included’ section.
- You’ll meet with your UniLife Trip Leaders at your chosen pick-up destination and head to the airport to catch your flight!
- Once landed in Barcelona, proceed through passport control and hop on your airport transfers to the accommodation.
- Our Trip Leaders will get you checked in and settled so you can make the most of your first evening in Barcelona. We have plenty of recommendations from our many trips here, which we’ll share on the group chat so you can start getting to know the city!
Day2Day 2
Free day
A day of free time to explore the city how you like! Here are some recommendations:
- We’d recommend starting off your Barcelona experience with a stroll along Las Ramblas – Barcelona’s famous tree-lined street. There’s plenty to see along the walk, but if you start at the beach end of the walk, we’d suggest stopping at the Boqueria Market – a place filled with food options for around the world, including traditional Catalan dishes.
- The Picasso museum is well worth a visit to learn more about the iconic artist, before grabbing some food in the Gothic Quarter, with its trendy bars and medieval streets.
In the evening meet your Trip Leaders for an Bar Crawl visiting Malaga’s hotspots!
Day3Day 3
Free day
Here are some things we recommend to do with your free time:
- A relaxed start in Ciutadella Park is a great place to shake off the night before with a walk, visiting the zoo or relaxing on the boating lake.
- A short walk away, the incredible Sagrada Familia is an absolute must see.
- Finishing the day in Park Güell gives some great views over the city, particularly during sunset – the perfect spot for photos!
Day4Day 4
Home
- We’ll check out of the hostel and put your bags in luggage storage.
- You’ll have a final chance to explore and see any sights you might have missed, or simply relax on the Barcelona Beach.
- After meeting back at the hostel, you’ll hop on your transfers back to the airport and board your flight back the UK.
- Once back, we’ll proceed through to the arrivals area, making the end of the trip. Until next time!
