From the world famous Rambrant and Van Gogh Museums, Anne Frank House and hidden gems, to the lively bars, youth culture and infamous red light district, there’s something for everyone. 


With us, you’ll get an inside look into the 700 year history through an unmissable walking tour of the city, discovering the story of its rise from marshland town to a global superpower and the world’s largest trading centre. You’ll also have the opportunity to travel around like a true Amsterdammer by renting bikes, and much more. With so much going on, the city really is your oyster!

Itinerary

Please note, this is a sample itinerary. No activities are included unless specified in the ‘What’s Included’ section.

  • You’ll meet with your UniLife Trip Leaders at your chosen pick up destination. Once everyone is onboard and ready, you’ll leave for your overnight transfer to Amsterdam.

A day of free time to explore the city how you like! Here are some recommendations:

  • We’ll arrive in Amsterdam and check-in as soon as possible, giving you the rest of the day to plan, rest or explore the city and see what it has to offer. Our Trip Leaders will be on hand to offer suggestions or organise group visits to locations of your choice. An ideal time to check out a museum or two, get a taste of the Heineken experience or simply sit in a cafe and enjoy the scenery. 

In the evening meet your Trip Leaders for an Bar Crawl visiting Amsterdam’s hotspots!

Here are some things we recommend to do with your free time:

  • You’ll also have another chance to explore the city yourself and visit any sights or attractions that you really want to see. Visit the red light district, any last museums or get the perfect sunset snap for your gram at the A’dam lookout. 
  • Our friendly Trip Leaders will be organising some kind of evening activity if you haven’t included any optional extras in your itinerary. Feel free to give them suggestions!
  • On your final day, you’ll check out of the hostel, with the option to leave your luggage in a safe luggage storage room if there’s time for you to do any more exploring. 
  • When it’s time, you’ll start your journey back to the UK, leaving you with some great memories and a burning desire for your next trip!
