Itinerary

  • We begin our trip with a coach pick-up from the pick-up point. Our Trip Leaders will ensure that everyone has arrived and is ready to depart.
  • On arrival we’ll be hiking to High Tor. This 5km round trip hike takes you up to the limestone crag, which offers breathtaking panoramic views of the Derwent Valley and Matlock Bath below.
  • We’ll then be heading to Matlock Bath, a nearby village known for its riverside cafes and restaurants.
  • You’ll have free-time for the rest of the afternoon to see the many sites of Matlock Bath.
  • We’ll then be returning back to the pick-up spot after an unforgettable day.
  • High Tor offers one of the most iconic viewpoints in the area. The path can be rocky and uneven, so sturdy footwear is recommended. Upon reaching the summit of High Tor, you’ll be rewarded with incredible views of the Derwent Valley and the town of Matlock Bath. The vantage point provides an excellent opportunity for photography and taking in the natural beauty of the Peak District.
  • Take a leisurely stroll along the scenic promenade by the River Derwent. Enjoy the peaceful atmosphere, watch the boats go by, and admire the picturesque views of the surrounding hills.
  • Derwent Gardens is a lovely park with riverfront views. You can take a leisurely walk or simply relax by the water. Keep an eye out for the nearby fishpond and bandstand.
