History enthusiast or not, it’s impossible not to be blown away by the sheer number of unique sights Rome has. 2500 years of stunning architecture, culture and religion are compacted into this city, from the marvels of the Colosseum, the Roman forum and Pantheon to the spectacular St. Peter’s Square, Vatican and the Trevi Fountain. You’ll get to view some of the most iconic structures in the world, in the birthplace of Western Civilization. 

Don’t overdo it though! Immerse yourself in the italian lifestyle by doing things at your leisure, stopping for freshly made pasta and straight-out-the-oven pizza on every corner, accompanied by a glass of great-value wine or beer. And, like a local, spend your evenings in one of the lively clubs and bars dotted around the city. When in Rome!

Itinerary

  • You’ll meet with your UniLife Trip Leaders at your chosen pick-up destination and head to the airport to catch your flight!
  • Once landed in Italy, proceed through passport control and hop on your airport transfers to the accommodation.
  • Our Trip Leaders will get you checked in and settled so you can make the most of your first evening in Rome. We have plenty of recommendations from our many trips here, which we’ll share on the group chat so you can start getting to know the city!

A day of free time to explore the city how you like! Here are some recommendations:

  • Visit the iconic Colosseum and Roman Forum. Consider booking a guided tour to gain deeper insights into the history of these ancient sites.
  • Enjoy some Italian lunch at a charming Roman trattoria.
  • Explore the Palatine Hill and the Capitoline Hill, offering panoramic views of the city.
  • Let our Trip Leaders lead you through an exciting bar crawl through Rome’s nightlife hotspots, finishing in one of the best nightclubs Rome has to offer!

In the evening meet your Trip Leaders for an Bar Crawl visiting Rome’s hotspots!

Here are some things we recommend to do with your free time:

  • Visit the Vatican City, including St. Peter’s Basilica and the Vatican Museums. It’s advisable to book tickets in advance to avoid long queues.
  • Explore Castel Sant’Angelo and its impressive views of the Tiber River.
  • Take a leisurely walk around the historic centre, possibly heading towards the Pantheon and Piazza Navona.
  • Consider an evening stroll by the Tiber River or an optional visit to the Trevi Fountain.
  • We’ll check out of the hostel and put your bags in luggage storage.
  • You’ll have a final chance to explore and see any sights you might have missed!
  • After meeting back at the hostel, you’ll hop on your transfers back to the airport and board your flight back the UK.
  • Once back, we’ll proceed through to the arrivals area, making the end of the trip. Until next time!
